Tree House – A new style of holidaying!

Tree House @ iris holidays
As a child, I used to envy the birds because they could fly anywhere they wished, perch on the branches of the trees and even their homes (nests) were in the lap of Mother Nature. They neither had to cram themselves in a school bus or get lost in the concrete jungle that our cities had transformed into. During holidays, I looked forward to the places to see but took little interest in the hotels we had stayed in. They appeared variations of a particular design brief, and seemed very impersonal.

If you can relate to my memories, then its time for you to look at the renaissance the hospitality industry has undergone. For those who want to experience nature to the fullest, tree houses are ideal. Now, you too, can sit on the branch of a tree, count the stars in the sky or just take a look around.

Tree Houses are attractive to all generations. Children just adore running up and down the ladder leading up to them, while they get to experience nature from such a close distance. Staying in a setup on top of a tree may sound sceptical to some when it comes to luxury or sanitary facilities. But don’t worry, modern tree houses are equipped with the latest gadgets and facilities such as plasma televisions, refrigerators and modern sanitaryware. Set in a jungle or a hilly slope overlooking a green valley, these nests on trees offer you an opportunity to drink in the beauty of the panorama in front of you. Some have full height openings and also have a deck in front of them for you to enjoy your evening sit-out. You may sit indoors during rain and listen to the pitter-patter of the drops.

Instead of the conventional brick walls, you find yourself engulfed with nature and wooden walls and sloping roofs. Leafy branches sweep in through the window, while climbers wind on the railing s of the deck and cling to the walls like a blanket. And yes, you are literally away from the madding crowds, traffic snarls and pollution. You may even not be receiving cell phone signals in some destinations. Imagine yourself in a location that experiences snowfall in winter, and you wake up to find snow on your balcony, dripping down from a sloping roof. You cosily cuddle up with your special one or your family as you enjoy this picturesque scene. Again, in spring, you wake up to the melodious chirps of birds, and you look out to see a rivulet flow below, while lush green surroundings welcome you…
