India International Trade Fair
The 31st editionof the popular annual mega trade fair, the India International Trade Fair (IITF), is currently going on at Pragati Maidan, New Delhifrom November 14 to 27, 2011.The fair attracts huge amount of interest among both domestic and international traders, with many major brands across all sectors participating in a big way.
State PavillionIITF is the largest integrated Trade Fair with both B2B (Business to Business) and B2C (Business to Consumer) components. It is one of the largest trade fair in the world both in terms of exhibitor and visitor participation and has evolved its unique character as an iconic national event. The unique feature of the fair is the participation of almost all states and Union Territories of India apart formed Domestic and Foreign companies.
IIFT TechmartIITF offers to participants from different segments of industry adequate visibility for their products and services among fair visitors with demarcated halls representing different sectors. Through its Special Display sections of techmart, representing products and technologies of small and medium enterprises, Saras, Highlighting tribal and rural handicrafts, and Good Living, with focus on products and goods relevant to daily living, the fair ensures a distinct visibility for generic product categories.
State ArtistsThe Fair is open for business visitors and participants (for B2B transactions) from November 14 itself and from November 19 to 27, it is open for general public(B2C transactions).
The “business days” tickets are priced at Rs. 400, the “general days” entry tickets between November 19 and 27 for adults are priced at Rs.40 on weekdays and Rs.60 on weekends and holidays. For children, the entry tickets are priced at Rs.20 on weekdays and Rs.30 on weekends and holidays. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is selling entry tickets for the India International Trade Fair’s business days (November 14 to 18) from terminal and interchange stations on all lines. The stations from where tickets could be purchased are Rithala, Dilshad Garden, Jehangirpuri, HUDA City Centre, Noida City Centre, Dwarka Sector-21, Anand Vihar, Yamuna Bank, Central Secretariat, Sarita Vihar, Inderlok, Mundka, Kashmere Gate, Rajiv Chowk and Pragati Maidan Metro Station. Moreover, Between November 19 and 27, there will be 24 manual ticket counters functioning at Pragati Maidan metro station. Additional DMRC personnel, customer facilitation agents and security staff will also be deployed at all stations on these days.
Delhi MetroDMRC said that during last year’s trade fair, the average daily footfall (entry/exit) at Pragati Maidan metro station was about one lakh passengers per day. This year too, huge crowds are expected at IITF.
