Haridwar

Day 1: Arrival Delhi – Haridwar (205 km-6 hrs. drive)
Upon arrival at Delhi you will be met by our representative and straight driven to Hardiwar-the starting point of Char Dham Yatra. Upon arrival at Haridwar you will check in at TOH Property/accommodation and the remaining day will be free for relaxation. Towards the evening you can explore the local markets and the famous Aarti at Har ki Paudi.
Haridwar: It literally means the gateway to Har or Vishnu, one of the three creators of the world under the Hindu Mythology. Legend has it that in order to salvage the souls of his ancestors who were suffering from the curse of Sage Kapila for seven ages, King Bhagirathi performed penance at the very same land. The King’s prayers for salvation were finally answered by the Goddess Ganga who accepted to grace the planet through the locks of Lord Shiva. Thus started the ritual of devotees coming to this holy land to wash away the sins of their ancestor and pray for their salvation. Haridwar is one of the holiest places in India and one that has spirituality in all of its particles.

Day 2: Haridwar – Barkot (205 Kms/5 – 6 hrs):
After an early breakfast, you will be driven to Barkot via Dehradun, Mussoorie, Dhanaulti, Kanatal and Chamba. Kanatal-Dhanaulti belt is famous for its fruits and is known as the fruit belt of the hill state of Uttarakhand. Upon your arrival at Barkot you will check in at TOH Property/accommodation for overnight stay.
Barkot: Situated at the bank of River Yamuna Barkot is also known as King Shastrabahus’ Nagari. Famous for its proximity to an ancient ashram known as ‘Kalpvriksh’ it’s our first stop in the Char Dham yatra. Nearby, there is a place known as Gangnani, where Ganga parts flow and makes a ‘Kund’ and thus it becomes a holy place to visit to.

Day 3: Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot (42 Km & 5 Km Trek)
After an early breakfast you will be driven till Janki Chatti via Hanuman Chatti & Fool Chatti. From Janki Chatti you will be trekking 6 Km to Yamunotri. At Yamunotri you will first take a Holi Dip in Garam Kund, this will be followed by a Pooja and Darshan of Shree Yamunotri Ji. Post Darshan, you will trek down towards Janki Chati and be driven back to Barkot. Overnight stay will be at TOH Property/accommodation.

Yamunotri :( Altitude 3,291 m)—Our first of the Four Dhams, it is the western most shrine in the region, and is dominated by the peak of Banderpunch (Altitude 6,361 m) of the Mighty Himalaya Range. Going by Hindu mythology Yamunotri was the daughter of Surya, the Sun and the twin sister of Yama, the Lord of Death. It is said that one who takes a dip in her hly waters at this shrine shall be spared a torturous death.

Hanuman Chatti: is located at the confluence of two great Himalayan river streams famously known as Hanuman Ganga & Yamuna.
Surya Kund: It is the most important thermal springs located in the vicinity of the temple.
Divya Shila: It is a rock pillar, which is the Symbol of Yama, the God of Death. It is to be worshipped before entering the Yamunotri Temple.

Day 4:Barkot – Uttarkashi (95Kms, 4 Hours Approx.)
After breakfast, you will hit the road for a relaxing drive towards Uttarkashi which is approximately 82 Km from Barkot. En route you will visit the Prakateshwar Cave. Upon arrival at Uttarkashi, you will check in at TOH Property/accommodation and can later explore the local market. Overnight stay will be at TOH Property/accommodation.

Known as the ‘Kashi’ of the North, Uttarkashi is situated on the banks of River Bhagirathi and is one of the purest sites in India. The place lies next to the Varun parvat and is the home of Manikarnika Ghat and Vishwanath Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Other important temples situated here are temple of Ekadash Rudra, Bhairav, Gyaneshwar and Goddess Kuteti Devi with varied religious and spiritual interest.

Day 5: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (100 Kms each way)
After an early breakfast you will be driven to Gangotri via Bhatwadi and Harshil. The entire stretch is filled with devotees who are drenched in deep emotional love and devotion for their God, the sense of spirituality is at its best here. En route to Gangotri you will visit Harshil – a small hamlet offering a magnificent view of the surrounding landscape and is a real treat for the visitors. Upon reaching Gangotri you will perform the rituals and Pooja and relax for some time in the lovely surroundings the Himalayans have to offer to you. In the afternoon, you will be driven back to Uttarkashi for night stay at TOH Property/accommodation.

Day 6: Uttarkashi – Tehri – Rudraprayag – Syalsaud/Guptkashi (235 Km)
After an early breakfast, you will be driven to Guptkashi. En route to Guptakashi you will visit the well-known Tehri Dam. Upon arrival at Guptakashi you will check in at TOH Property/accommodation for overnight stay.

Rudraprayag: A well known destination amongst pilgrims, it is one of the five Prayagas situated in Uttarakhand. It is located at the confluence of Mandakini and Alaknanda Rivers and is named after Lord Rudra (Lord Shiva). Some famous temples to visit here are the Rudranath and Chamunda Devi temples and the Koteshwar Temple.

Day 07: Syalsaud/Guptkashi – Kedarnath (30 Km by road & 14 Km Trek)
After an early breakfast you will be driven to Gaurikund which will take about sixty to ninety minutes. After reaching Gaurikund we begin a 14 Km trek starting from Gaurikund for Kedarnath (Options of pony/Doli available). Members are adviced to carry personal medicines, heavy woolen cloths and other necessary items as the temperature is expected to be very low. Upon reaching Kedarneth you will check in at TOH Property/accommodation and the remaining day will be free for exploring the temple area and the breathtaking surroundings. Evening Aarti and Morning Aarti would be performed on preannounced time.
Gaurikund: This place is famous as the spot where Goddess Parvati in order to attain Lord Shiva meditated. This is the starting point from where the holy pilgrimage to the Kedarnath Temple is made after taking a dip in the Holy Kund (Lake) and visiting Gauri temple.
Kedarnath:  Known for hosting one of the twelve Jyotilingas of Lord Shiva, it is believed to be founded by the Pandavas and is one of the most reverd sites in all of Hindu Mythology. The present Kedarneth temple was built by Shri Shankaracharya in the 7th century A.D.

Day 08: Kedarnath – SyalsaudGuptkashi (14 Km Down Trek & 35 Km/1hr by Road)
After attending the morning Aarti at the temple and visiting Bhairo temple ( optional) you will trek down to Gaurikund at leisure and after reaching Gaurikund you will be driven back to TOH Property/accommodation at Guptkashi for overnight stay.

Day 09: Syalsaud/Guptkashi – Badrinath (215kms/9hr)
After an early breakfast, you will hit the road for Badrinath via Rudraprayag or Chopta. En route you will come across Joshimath and other places of interest. Upon arrival at Badrinath you will check in at TOH Property/accommodation. In the evening, you will visit the temple to attend the Aarti and for obtaining tokens for Darshan next day. Overnight stay will be at TOH Property/accommodation.
Badrinath: IT is undoubtedly the most revered of all pilgrim destinations in India and has great value in Hindu Mythology. Situated at an elevation of 3,133 meters and guarded on either side by the mountain ranges of Nar and Narayana. According to Skand Purana “there is no shrine in heaven, on earth and in hell like Badrinath.” The area around Badrinath was also celebrated in Padama Purana as abounding in spiritual treasures.

Tapt Kund: Lying on the footstep of the Badrinath Temple and at the bank of River Alaknanda, it is natural spring, where it is customary to bathe before entering the Badrinath temple.

Narad Kund: This is a recess in the Alaknanda River near the Tapt Kund where Shri Shankaracharya is believed to have recovered the idol of Badrinath.

Sheshnetra:  on a boulder at a distance of 1500 meters from the temple, there is an impression of the legendary serpent of Lord Vishnu, better known as the Sheshnag’s eye.

Charanpaduka:  amidst the beautiful meadows of the surrounding there is a boulder on which are inscribed the impression of Lord Vishnu’s foot.

Mana Village: It is a small hamlet on the Indo-Nepalese border and is famous for its enchanting beauty and the inhabitants who are Bhotias, the last surviving Indo-Mongolian tribe. During winter the tribe leaves the village for another village downhill.

Vasundhara :  Further ahead of the Mana Village lies a magnificent waterfall which is a real treat for the eyes  and is located at a distance of 5 Km from the temple.

Vyas Gufa (cave): This is a cave near Mana village where Ved Vyas is believed to have written his commentaries on the Mahabharata and the three Purans.

Day 10: Badrinath – Joshimath – Rudraprayag/ Srinagar (160-190kms/6-7hr) 
After an early morning darshan of Badri Vishal and visiting the nearby places you will be driven back to Rudraprayag via Joshimath. The drive in most parts will be alongside the beautiful river of Alaknanda.

Joshimath: The religious center, established by Adi Shankaracharya, which he called Jyotirmath, later came to be known as Joshimath. Among the sites of interest are the temples of Nav Durga and Narsingh. Apart from its obvious religious importance, Joshimath is known for its scenic beauty.

Day 11: Rudraprayag/Srinagr  - Rishikesh (254kms/8hr)
After breakfast you will be driven back to Rishikesh. Upon arrival you will check in at TOH Property/accommodation and later visit local sightseeing areas of Rishikesh. Overnight stay will be at TOH Property/accommodation.
Rishikesh: It is known as the spiritual capital of India perhaps the world, among its many famous exports is the art of Yoga.  Similar to the Aarti at Har ki paudi at Haridwar, the evening aarti at Parmath is famous worldwide. The ‘place of sages’ is nowadays gaining popularity as the base camp of adventure activities in Garhwal Himalaya including rafting.
