Rājasthān, the “land of kings“is the largest state in India encompassing most of the area of the large, inhospitable Great Indian Desert (called Thar Desert). The state remains dry for most part of the year, with harsh sunny days and cold evenings. The landscape of the state reflects the harsh climatic conditions with hard barren rocky mountains, sand dunes and scarce vegetation. However, the landscape transforms itself during the brief monsoons and the barren landscape springs to life, with mother nature blooming in all shades of green all around.
