It’s the time to party at the Island Tourism Festival!!!

Andaman Island Festival
I believe it is natural human tendency to create an occasion to celebrate. After a tired day of work, we want to hang out with our loved ones and relax. If we are having our blues, we need our friends and family to support us and that turns out to be a family get together. If we have learnt to celebrate during our sad times, then let us not even try analyzing our happy time celebrations. Let it be a hike in salary, the birthday of a family member or any religious festival, we always find reasons to celebrate. Island Tourism Festival-2011-12  is from 5th January, 2012 to 15th January, 2012.
Island FestivalOne such celebration showcasing the culture and uniqueness of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is the Island Tourism Festival. The festivals lasts a fortnight and is usually conducted during December and January. An initiative to promote tourism in the Islands, the Island Tourism Festival is hosted by the capital city of Port Blair. Various cultural programs, exhibitions and other competitions are held during this event. The beauty of the islands is showcased to the visitor by exhibiting the flora and fauna of these islands as well as its marine life. Para sailing, scuba diving and other water sports are conducted during this occasion. Puppet shows, dog show, magic shows, floating restaurant, baby show etc add thrill to the events.
andaman-tourism-festivalThe Islands of Andaman and Nicobar have come a long way from being the house of prisoners of war to being a country with exotic locations and developing tourism industry. The Island tourism festival celebrates this revolutionary yet positive transition. Entrepreneurs, government agencies and investors are invited to participate in this event, keeping in mind the need to  boost the economic development of the islands.
Port Blair, due to its cosmopolitan composition, has aways been considered a miniature form of the urban Indian culture. Innovation and novelty seems to be part of their living. As part of their economic and social development, Port Blair has undergone drastic yet positive changes.
Indian citizens do not require a permit or a passport to reach the Islands. As the hotels are going to be crowded during this time, it is wiser to book your accommodation in advance. For more details on the stay and travel please contact The Other Home.
