The Sunburn Electronic Dance Music Festival is one of the most popular music events to be held in Goa, India and is synonymous with the free spirited culture of the state. The festival is held each year in the Candolim Beach of Goa and is a wonderful combination of music, food, shopping & all round entertainment. Held over a period of three days, this festival sees many national & international artists performing simultaneously. Some of the renowned artists who have played at the festival include John 00 Fleming, Pete Gooding, DJ Pearl, Jalebee Cartel, Super 8, Tab, Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Sultan & Ned Shepard with Nadia Ali Richard Durand, GMS, Pete Gooding, Aly & Fila and DJs Pearl, Ma Faiza, Anish Sood and Sanjay Dutta.
The festival started in the year 2007, with the collaboration popular Indian VJ & DJ Nikhil Chinappa and Percept. Since then, the Sunburn festival has become bigger and better every year. It is usually held in the end of December each year, that time of the year having the best weather in Goa, with theCandolim beach in its full glory. The festival attracts many celebrities, with Bipasha Basu & Vijender Singh amongst the notable guests in the Sunburn 2011. The huge crowds at the festival have gotten bigger and bigger every year, bringing in tourists from all over the country and World. For the tourists, Candolim beach has some amazing homestays & apartments, which make it very convenient to stay at the beach itself.
