Along with Gandhi Jayanti, the 2nd of October is also celebrated as Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti. Lal Bahadur Shastri, the beloved second Prime Minister of India was born on 2nd October in the year 1904. He was greatly influenced by eminent leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru.
In the 1920’s he became a part of the Indian Independence movement.  Later he became the second Prime Minister of India. After the Indo-Pak war in the year 1965, Shastri became a national hero. He is remembered as one of the most prominent leaders of India.
