The Tulip Garden Festival shall be held in the first two weeks of April at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, Srinagar. It is also known as Siraj Bagh. It is a vast garden spreading over more than 5 acres of land. The tulips are in full bloom during the period between end of March and early April – the festival is perfectly timed so that a visitor can carry back memories in myriad hues of tulips.

Be at this festival to witness a number of varieties of just tulips, some of which are from imported from abroad – countries like Holland, etc. The garden is a photographer’s delight – it appears like a silk carpet of radiant colours. During the evenings, you may take part in various cultural events and shows, taste the local cuisine, do some shopping for souvenirs and handicrafts, and more.

The garden is located on the fringes of the beautiful Dal lake, which is a famous tourist attraction ofKashmir. You may plan to stay in houseboats on the Daal, and explore the gardens during the day. And while you are there, you must visit Cheshmashahi Garden too, a beautiful garden that dates back to the Mughal times.  Lots of movies have been shot in both these gardens.
